She uses her magic to shapeshift into other animals, and is always trying to perfect the best possible combination of enhanced skills this way— like the night vision of a fox, the bite of a wolf, the flight of a bird, etcetera. These combinations often backfire or simply look super weird, so she usually wears this giant cloak made of animal bits to hide her wonky appearance if people might be nearby.
The cloak is made of bits of animals she’s collected to study for future transformations. Staff is for magic sometimes, and braining animals that will soon be cloak bits more oftentimes.
Her familiar is usually a raven, but is often subjected to full transformations as well, for studies of course. S/he complains but doesn’t actually mind.
